K.C. Metro Volleyball
Club
WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
Training players in the fundamentals of volleyball to prepare each
player for her highest level of competition.
In 1994, Pam Sullivan founded K.C. Metro Volleyball Club.  Pam has over 19 years of
coaching on her resume.  When Pam founded K.C. Metro she held the Head Coaching
position at Olathe Christian School. While there, she coached her team to  4 KCAA State
Championships, an NACA Division 1 National Championship, and a NCHSAA National
Championship. In 2002, Pam began coaching for Metro Academy.  Her team returned to
NACA and won another  National Championship. Each year, 5 of her players were chosen
as an All- American,  2 MVP's and  Player of the Year, twice.  Pam was named Coach of
the Year.  In 2009, Metro Academy traveled to Springfield, Mo to compete in the
1st annual N. C. C. National Volleyball Tournament.
The Mavericks are the first ever National Champions at N. C. C.

This club began out of a desire to provide girls in the Kansas City Metro area a
reasonably priced regional team to play on.  Her goal is to find a team for every girl, even
if this means taking on another team.  Pam received her CAP Level 1 in the Gateway
Region under Cadre: Doug Beal, John Kessel and John Wilson.  In 2002, 2005, 2006,
2007, and 2008 she, along with the coaching staff, attended  the Gold Medal Squared
Coaches clinic hosted at K-State.

Pam has made an investment in the Metro coaching staff.  Each year, all coaches agree
to attend the 3 day GM2 coaches training, provided for them by K. C. Metro.
Since 2002, K. C. Metro has hosted 3 summer Wildcat VB Camps, staffed by the K-State
coaching staff.
2007 was the year K. C. Metro introduced the Gold Medal Squared coaches to the
Kansas City area for a 2 day players camp as well as our 4 day summer camp.
She would love to provide a coaches clinic as well in the upcoming years.
The K. C. Metro summer camp held in August  for 3rd -8th graders is always a great
success.

In 2003, 2004 and 2008 Pam  traveled to Costa Rica with GoALL Sports Missions to
coach International Volleyball and introduce her players to international competition. Pam
is committed to each athlete by helping to develop their skills and help each one achieve
their highest level of success.

2006 brought a celebration of 30 years of marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robin.
He has been at Gibbens Drake Scott Engineers for 24years and the Varsity Boys
Basketball Coach at Metro Academy since 2002.
They have a daughter in law, Julia, in Texas, their son Ryan is waiting for them in heaven.
Shanna, their oldest daughter, lives in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with her husband Jason.
Ashleigh, graduated from  Evangel University in 2008 and  returned [May 6-July 30, 2008]
to the US after playing International Volleyball in Costa Rica.  Ashleigh has once again
joined the Metro Coaching Staff.

Parents,
As we begin our tournaments, maybe we need a gentle reminder that you are
responsible for reading the hand book with your player.  This will help all
players and parents understand what behavior is acceptable before, during
and after a tournament.
The 10 Guidelines for being a Good Player Parent was discussed at the
meeting, If you need to, post those reminders in a location that you may refer
to often.
DO NOT APPROACH A COACH AFTER A MATCH OR TOURNAMENT!
CALL WHEN YOU ARRIVE HOME AND SET AN APPOINTMENT TO BE
ATTENDED BY YOU AND YOUR CHILD TO WORK OUT ANY
MISUNDERSTANDINGS.
We want to have another great year, and it takes everyone's respect and
cooperation.  Lead  by example for your child!
